Faith Formation Classes – Re-opening

Out of fraternal love, we keep the Safety, Wellbeing, and Health of our catechists, children, families, and entire parish community at the forefront in resuming the catechetical ministry.

Faith formation classes, in English, for the 2020/2021 Catechetical year at

Our Lady of Guadalupe will begin Wednesday, September 9th, 2020 from 6pm to 7:15pm. Temperature checks will begin at 5:45pm.

Classes will meet in person, in the parish hall, twice a month.

Children will have 2 in person classes per month, every other Wednesday from 6pm to 7:15pm. Temperature checks will begin at 5:45pm. Class sizes will be limited due to capacity limits. Children will be given supplies on the first day of class, and will be expected to bring their supplies back and forth from home to class each time. Assignments will be given to do at home for the weeks they do not attend in person.

Virtual ONLY options will also be available. Please communicate your request for Virtual ONLY to the DRE. Students and families opting for virtual only will be assigned a catechists who will give assignments and check in with the family monthly. Distribution of supplies will be set up individually.

All guidelines set forth by the State of New Mexico and Archdiocese of Santa Fe will be adhered to with the upmost care and concern for the health and safety of our entire community. Face masks will be required by all, temperature checks will be taken upon entering the building, hand sanitizer will be provided in every classroom, classrooms will be sanitized before and after each class, and social distancing guidelines and capacity limits met.

*All parents of children in classes K-8 will meet in the church on the first Wednesday class meeting of the month with Father Chris Hallada, our new pastor.

Our focus this year will be Family Catechesis. We will aim to equip families with the tools they need to teach and form the faith of their children and own the role of primary teachers and spiritual leaders of their homes. These once a month parent class meetings will be recorded, streamed live, and posted to our You Tube channel, in order to be available to families who are doing Virtual only classes, or in the event of another lockdown, be adaptive to unforeseen situations, so we can still continue faith formation*
